‘Worried’ David Luiz returning to Paris

The knock-on effects of the attacks in the French capital include striking fear into the feared striker of Paris Saint- Germain and another member of one of Europe’s top football sides to the point they don’t wants to go back after time out for global games.

Cavani’s PSG team-mate David Luiz has said that he is yet to decide whether he will return to the French capital, following the attacks which claimed 129 lives.

David Luiz was sent off during his country’s 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw against Argentina on Friday, making him unavailable for the clash with Peru on Tuesday at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.

The striker is supposed to have conveyed his thoughts to Uruguay teammate Alvaro Gonzalez who was speaking in a news conference ahead of their World Cup qualifier. The mistranslated quote, taken from an interview with press while he was on worldwide duty with Brazil, reads: “I have my girlfriend and a few family and friends in Paris”.

“Playing for PSG is my job, but if it were up to me, then I would not go back”. “I’m anxious and still trying to understand what happened”, he said.

PSG midfielder Marco Verratti’s agent has said his client is “not afraid” of going back to Paris, though.

Before his return, he used social media to attack “fools who love to blather on about nothing” but also made it clear that he was returning to France “on the orders of the club”.
