WR Jerry Jeudy commits to Alabama

Jerry Jeudy of Pompano Beach, Florida chose Alabama over the likes of SEC resident Florida, among a slew of other contenders, and will give the Crimson Tide yet another talented, high-profile wide receiver when he makes his way to Tuscaloosa in the fall of 2017 like so many before him.

Amassing 32 offers in total, he was recruited to the Tide by Assistant Head Coach Mario Cristobal and Wide receivers Coach Billy Napier. After the older Ridley left for Alabama, Jeudy and Ridley’s younger brother, Cavin, transferred to Deerfield Beach, where they were a terrific one-two punch last season. He first attended a school camp in July of 2014, and although he received offers in between, his interest in Alabama remained. “I felt like Alabama was home for me, and they have had good receivers from South Florida go there”, Jeudy said.

Check with TideSports.com for the upcoming announcements and what the future decisions mean to Alabama’s overall class of 2017. “At 6’1” and 177 pounds he will need to add some weight, but there is nobody better than Scott Cochran to aid in that regard.

Jeudy caught 41 passes for 496 yards and 10 touchdowns, and Cavin Ridley caught 36 passes for 501 yards and four touchdowns.

At “The Opening” event just a few weeks ago, Jeudy displayed his electric play-making ability and hooked up with Tide quarterback commit Tua Tagovailoa on several big plays during the event. Alabama has been able to develop receivers with tremendous success as of late (see Julio Jones and Amari Cooper), and this class has a great chance to continue that trend.
