Though grisly, the information may bring comfort to fans who were concerned that Chyna was so distraught she chose to take her own life. Chyna was only 45 years old and just recently attended the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in Dallas Wrestlemania weekend.

But despite Chyna’s troubles, she was much loved while she was alive, which has carried over into her death.

Police found her body at her home in Redondo Beach, Calif., on Wednesday, according to local media.

Sources reveal that Chyna had not been seen or heard from in a few days, and when a friend when to the wrestler’s home to check on her, she found her unresponsive in the bedroom, and made a call to police.

The official cause of death is unknown.

TMZ has reported that police did not find any illegal drugs in Chyna’s home, although there were prescription drugs present.

An autopsy was planned in the next few days, he said, but it could be weeks before the results of toxicology tests are known. “A pioneer whose star shined bright”. The friend had gone over to check on her because she hadn’t been answering the phone. It’s a heartbreaking shocker for Chyna’ s followers and the fans of WWE, as her legacy marks Chyna as the most celebrated women champion of the wrestling franchise.

She also appeared on programs including “3rd Rock from the Sun” and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch”. For example, in 2008, she appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

A statement on Chyna’s website said, “It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero….”

Like so many others who passed away too young after their WWE careers, Chyna’s demons were well-documented.

Chyna was a native of Rochester, N.Y. After getting her start as male wrestler Triple H’s bodyguard, Chyna broke into the ring herself, where she often competed against – and defeated – male wrestlers.
