Wrexham’s Tesco to hire UK’s first Christmas tree light untangler

‘Tis the season for seasonal job openings, and a Rexham, England, supermarket has an especially specific listing.

The salary for the position has not yet been revealed, but Mashable reports that an official press release from the retailing giant claims “a typical day could involved untangling up to 60 sets of lights”.

It follows research saying people in the town are the most frustrated in the United Kingdom by the annual job of untangling lights.

Applicants have been told they must be capable of untangling three metres of wire in less than three minutes and love Christmas.

Here’s the full job overview:”This November, Tesco is launching the UK’s first Christmas light untangling service in one of our Wrexham stores and is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of a Tesco Christmas Light Untangler to help customers prepare for the festive season”.

The main responsibilities will include manning and managing the Christmas Lights Untangling stand, handling customers Christmas lights carefully to keep everything in tip-top condition and successfully untangling customers Christmas lights neatly, quickly and efficiently and in an orderly fashion. Then Tesco may well just have the ideal job for you.

The untangler job is being advertised for the Wrexham Extra store in north Wales – but only lasts as a temporary post for four weeks.

The successful candidate needs to be patient enough to unreel reams and reams of lights, and untangle the ones which have got in a mess.

The service will be free to customers and be on a first come first served basis.
