WWE Clash of Champions 2016: Preview and predictions

The return of the cruiserweights has been met with a fantastic response from the WWE Universe and the first title defense of TJ Perkins comes here at Clash of Champions.

The following matches are advertised for the WWE Clash of Champions event, which will be held on Sunday in Indianapolis, Indiana at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Although it was obvious this seven-match series was always going to go the distance and there aren’t any real stakes, Cesaro and Sheamus can always deliver 10 to 15 solid minutes of wrestling. However, all good things must come to an end and this overly long rivalry should conclude either at this or the next PPV with the New Day’s reign finally ending. The match itself has been thrown together at the last minute and hasn’t had much build but that is ultimately down to the fact Rusev has just got married and he and Lana have taken time away which is understandable.

The women’s revolution continues to develop and grow with this match as the WWE and all three women have done a spectacular job in building and developing it.

So without further delay, here are my predictions for Clash of Champions.

Here are your preview and predictions for WWE Clash of the Champions, starting with the Kickoff Match.

-New Day vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson for the Raw Tag Team Championship. When WWE announced the WWE draft earlier in 2016, they also announced they would be adding some pay-per-views that would be brand exclusive ones.

Plus, Triple H choosing Owens over Rollins was an instant hit.

Heel-turn again for Reigns?

Originally this was supposed to be a match between Charlotte and Banks, but on RAW last week it was mentioned that both Sasha Banks and Bayley’s shoulders were pinned to the mat. During the discussion, Gallows touched on such topics as his input in his WWE storylines, what he feels makes AJ Styles so special, his goals in WWE and more.

Words are spreading that the trio of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins is set to appear in the year’s Survivor Series. If you see it as a cliffhanger type match that has many ramifications to it, then maybe it is a TLC match or Royal Rumble main event.

Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship. On 12 September, Reigns clashed with Owens so as to become the #1 contender to challenge the champion for Raw’s top title at Clash of Champions.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley in a Triple Threat for the Raw Women’s Championship.

The main event features a battle between current WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens and his challenger, Seth Rollins; two top notch wrestlers who consistently put on sterling performances with most of their opponents. The 15-time world champion exacted revenge, though, and won their trio of matches by a 2-1 margin, following a triumph at Money in the Bank and then another at Battleground when his United States Championship was up for grabs. Triple H’s interference has provided the nudge needed to create the two main stars who will lead Raw in the unfortunate absence of first ever Universal champion, Finn Balor who WWE initially had huge plans for before his serious injury.
