WWE Night Of Champions: Stardust And Ascension Vs. Neville And Lucha Dragons
Kevin Owens finally captured his first championship in the WWE last night. At least we have Kane challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship to look forward to in a month or so.

WWE has made such a big deal about pumping life into the United States Title by putting the strap on John Cena.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., The Citizen’s David Wilcox and Robert will have live coverage of WWE Night of Champions.
Neville and Lucha Dragons: Not a bad match but one that could’ve been better. He goes up for Red Arrow and nails it but Konnor breaks the pin.
Stardust sacrificed Viktor by pushing him into Neville that left him vulnerable for a Queen’s Crossbow. The best part about it was the ring psychology.
When Ryback went to the outside to capitalize on the slam to the outside, Owens was waiting to attack. It’s something small, but important.
What We Disliked: That it was a Ryback match. Owens recoups from a spinebuster and lands a big kick for a two-count. He escapes and rolls up Ryback for the win.
Kevin Owens had been challenging WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback for several weeks, be it with verbal barbs or with interference in matches.
The bell sounds and here we go with our Kickoff Show match of the evening.
Lesnar will be appearing on “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s podcast. The third match in this series will take place inside the massive steel structure. It appears he has Lana’s face on his trousers . Not everything I wanted out of the match but a good consolation prize.
The match ends when Summer Rae gets on the ring apron. The ref ejects her! She tosses the other one in the direction of the ref, but it strikes Rusev! The distraction allowed Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag for the pinfall. The Cosmic Wasteland continued with frequent tags as the commentary team talked about all things Houston until they paid attention to Kalisto walking on his hands. Look no further than the nauseating way that they’ve tried to retrofit the “revolution” as being the work of the Bellas, the very types of personalities that fans (and wrestlers) want to rebel against. The match was entertaining overall but I was disappointed with the end. Bubba Ray and D-Von hit the 3D! The ref calls for the bell and the match is over. She even suplexed Charlotte into the ropes a few times. Charlotte is a fresh face and sold her leg injury well. Nikki even pulled a page from Charlotte’s playbook, performing a Figure Eight with Charlotte wrapped up in the ring post. Nikki’s title reign is over.
Wyatt Family defeats Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho- Chris Jericho shocked the WWE universe by being the mystery partner. With the crowd chanting for Lana, Rusev gets distracted enough for Zigler to slam Rusev with impressive strength.
This was a good battle. The three babyfaces took turns wearing down Luke Harper before he was able to tag in Strowman. Jericho gets trapped by Strowman and is knocked out by the sleeper-holder finisher. Strowman applies the lifting arm triangle choke. They go through a few counters to get the match flowing. Another dislike: The fan that jumped into the ring prior to the match. Cena blocking Rollins from running was good. The champ seems to have studied Cena, predicting most of his moves before he performs them. Rollins start to rise. He grabs Rollins and hits and AA for the win! He’s trying to leave before the WWE title match! Rollins lost to Cena, but outlasted Sting in back-to-back matches.
What happened: The match begins and Sting doesn’t waste any time going after Rollins. -Grade=C+ -There was good action in the match, but the finish was put together to just put more heat on the inevitable Summer/Rusev break-up. He climbed to the top rope once to take out Rollins on the outside. Sting collapsed moments later in the ring and the doctors were called out.
Sting gets up and the match restarts. Rollins reversed momentum, dropping the challenger with a sleeper hold.
After the first attempt, Sting tries to apply the Scorpion Death Lock again. We get it – the heel wins in despicable fashion and the fans have to pay (relatively speaking) to see the babyface get her redemption. Kane enters the ring and grabs Rollins.

That wasn’t the end. I expect a less-than-stellar feud with Kane and Rollins. He hits a Tombstone Piledriver before Night of Champions concludes.
