The Royal Rumble is over and it’s time for the Road to WrestleMania 32. This past Christmas, Fab even turned his son’s bedroom into a WWE ring and outfitted the set-up with a number of top notch props.
How did the WWE address it last night on Raw? It’s not yet known what Ambrose will be doing at Mania but with Reigns and Triple H’s history and Lesnar’s interaction with the Wyatts in the Rumble it’s a given that the Intercontinental champ won’t be winning at Fast Lane. Do we have a main event set for the next pay-per-view in February called Fastlane? After his playful greeting, he returned to the stage, and the tag team the New Day entered to engage in back-and-forth. Alhtough Brock Lesnar defeated the Deadman’s winning streak but the match has still got the biggest buzz.
The Rock struggled to keep from cracking up while The New Day taunted him from the ramp, but after the Usos prevented the champions from running backstage, The Rock delivered a Rock Bottom to Big E and finished Xavier Woods with a People’s Elbow. He was involved in a 20 min insult fest of very little meaning with the over exposed and not entertaining New Day.
The Rock may also make a more subsided appearance as a referee on the battle of the Billionaires between WWE Chairman and Jones.
The cherry on this dirt sundae was the conclusion of having the Triple Threat Match named for WWE Fastlane.
Keeping the belt sidelined while Triple H comes out with a suit on does nothing for the title itself, him as a champion, or the buildup to WrestleMania. Sequences in matches in WWE are generally more slow paced to avoid injury, but when wrestlers are used to a much quicker pace, they tend to need a learning curve when coming to WWE.
