WWE RAW: September 26th, 2016 – Results and highlights
Here are 4 major reasons why Clash of Champions & last night’s RAW were disappointing.

Even before the match began, there was no doubt that Owens was expected to come out still champion – by hook or by crook. We do see good performances and exciting matches here and there, but there is literally no one in female division who is more worthy of holding the Championship other than Charlotte.
After Rusev lost his US Championship at Clash of Champions, he invoked his re-match clause on Monday Night RAW. The entire point of putting the two through a hellish series of 7 matches was to rightfully determine who was most deserving of a title shot. This match was not a surprise as Nia Jax went over on Fox.
But The New Day would away with their titles once again, as Kofi followed up a tornado DDT from the top rope on Anderson with Trouble in Paradise. Another featured match was between The New Day and the Club for the Tag Team Championship. New Day has held the tag title for over 400 days and is continuing to hold. Sure, there were a couple sloppy moments, but what WWE fans got was an entertaining cruiserweight match.
T.J Perkins defeated Brian Kendrick by submission to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title. This small rivalry is far from over. She bragged about winning the match on Sunday night and being the best women’s wrestler… ever. After a vicious brawl, the match was called a no contest by the referee and medical personnel.
Chris Jericho defeated Sami Zayn when “The Underdog from the Underground” briefly seized the momentum with a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Jericho stopped Zayn in his tracks with a well-timed Codebreaker to go on to victory.
Just as expected, these women really know how to make a match look good. Since Banks was not pinned in the triple threat match, she is still owed her one-on-one rematch for the championship.
So, naturally, one would expect at least one title change, right? It’s Roman Reign’s signature never give up attitude that got him the win. Rusev applied the Accolade at the 16-minute mark, but Reigns powered out. This rematch is taking place less than 24 hours after Reigns won the belt, so it would be an impressively short reign (no pun intended) if Rusev wins the title back. It was unexpected yet not surprising to see Chris Jericho interfere. They’re so brilliant, in fact, that they could do truly great things as a mismatched pair and, again, he just can’t stand to lose one of them. There were broken announce tables and Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins giving a nostalgic “Suck It” gesture towards each other. As Rollins tried to revive the referee, Stephanie McMahon came out with a second referee.

Owens would finish the match off with a combo clothesline and powerbomb on Enzo, pinning the realest guy in the ring for the full three-count and ending RAW for the night.
