WWE Release Statement Regarding Brock Lesnar’s UFC Return

When he re-signed with WWE a year ago, Lesnar said he was “officially closing the door on MMA”. He also won the NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling championship in 2000 at Minnesota and went to training camp with the Minnesota Vikings as a defensive tackle in 2004, but didn’t make the team. You want another title fight added to the mix? “That decision has haunted me for the past 15 months”.

Lesnar last fought in the octagon back at UFC 141 against Alistair Overeem, where he was finished in the first round by TKO.

However, as time passed Lesnar’s desire to fight again heightened, but he felt he was in a constant battle with his body.

There are a lot of questions surrounding Lesnar’s UFC return and what WWE might get in return.

The official announcement regarding the said WWE News was made during the UFC 199 pay-per-view broadcast in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

WWE confided that Lesnar remains under contract with the wrestling promotion and is slated to perform at the company’s “SummerSlam” event on August 21.

Just recently announced, the UFC’s single biggest draw is now back for UFC 200 fighting an undisclosed opponent.

Speaking on ESPN’s Sports Centre on Monday, Lesnar said it was he who initiated negotiations over him competing at the landmark event.

But, does this mean that Lesnar’s WWE career is over? If Mark Hunt ends up on the ground, the fight’s over.

Fighters from the UFC have been asking for the fight on Twitter like Josh Barnett and former interim champ Shane Carwin but one unexpected challenger emerged early this morning, United States champ Rusev. “I figured I couldn’t live like that for the rest of my life”. In my mind, I never lost to my opponent, I lost to diverticulitis.
