“That’s the thing that freaked me out, the fact this guy got in and no one spotted him”.

“I don’t want to say too much right now because I am angry”.

The 56-year-old X Factor judge was asleep upstairs in his home in west London with girlfriend Lauren Silverman when the thief struck on December 4 and reportedly made off with jewellery and cash.

“What would have happened if he had woken up?”

She has had hi-tech laser beams installed at her £5million North London property.

It’s bad enough that the celebrity judges on X Factor have to endure crimes against their ears – listening to thousands of crappy singers before finding a half decent one with a big set of knockers – now, however, it has emerged that they face an even bigger danger.

“I’ve been in Simon’s ear the last few years about helping him out, so when he did actually ask me officially I was honoured”. It really is serious.

Meanwhile, it’s also The Sun who report that Rita is not only a hit with X Factor fans for her judging and mentoring skills, but for her sense of style too!

There were those who were convinced it was a sign the whole show was fixed. The X Factor boss said the invasion had left the family traumatised.

He said: “Sometimes when I did auditions I’d see her sitting in the audience years ago”. You never know what is going to happen.

“We thought we had a shot but I didn’t want to announce it until I knew for sure but, no, it’s fantastic”.

The pop mogul said of the burglar who carried out the robbery: “I think he had inside knowledge, definitely”.

Of course, after Olly’s previous fumble with announcing the wrong voted off contestant, people weren’t willing to let the glitch go down quietly.
