AMD’s technology is used in all three major home consoles, and with rumours circulating about the Nintendo NX, “PS4.5” and new Xbox prototypes, it’s possible that AMD has created new designs for each console developer.
She added that not all three designs will be available in 2016.
AMD’s revenue fell 19 percent year-over-year to $832 million for the first three months of 2016, but the $109 million loss for the quarter was better than the $180 million loss reported for the same period in 2015. The part of AMD that makes chips for other machines is called the Semi-Custom division.
