Xbox One standard wireless controller now supports button remapping
Today Microsoft has given a full rundown of the button remapping feature, which is available for both the Xbox One Elite controller, and standard Xbox One controllers.

Users who wish to remap their standard Xbox One controllers can do so in a variety of ways. The remapping support for standard controllers only gives you the option to swap button assignments, where as Elite allows the removal of an input as well as multiple buttons having the same input. These configurations also stay on the same Xbox console for the former, but carry on with the latter, including the ability to bring them to a PC. What this means is that if players will assign one command to another button with an existing function, then that button will be swapped to the other button. For example, the “Y” button can be mapped to the “A” button and this will subsequently map the “A” button to the “Y” button. If you haven’t, check for updates on your console by heading to Settings All Settings System Console Info & Updates. If the user takes the controller to another console, the user will need to remap the buttons once again.
Have you ever been frustrated by the fact that you have to choose between a bunch of preset control options in your Xbox One games?
This is the fruit of the partnership made between Microsoft and third-party controller creator Scuf.

For the Elite controller, Microsoft reports, “the only required buttons that need to be mapped somewhere on the controller are A and B”. Be sure to check out IGN’s review to discover more details about the Xbox Elite Wireless controller.
