Xbox One Update Rolls out Tomorrow, Adds a Ton of New Features
As you can see, there’s quite a few new features here for both the Xbox One console and the Xbox app. The update for the Xbox app will roll out today and the new additions and improvements for the Xbox One console will roll out tomorrow, February 19.

Xbox owners will be able to view who else is in their friends’ parties, check out leaderboards based on Gamerscore, rearrange Pins on the home screen, and a whole lot more. The biggest feature coming back, that I’ve been enjoying on the preview program, is the ability to see who and how many people are in a party. The Gamerscore Leaderboard will now be displayed under My Achievements.
Check out who your friends are partying with instead of you. Starting this week, Xbox One players will be able to organize pinned content and access Pins offline.
The Achievements section of an Xbox One user’s profile is being updated with a Gamerscore Leaderboard. You will also be able to hide games from the “ready-to-install” list so that you don’t need to see all of them all the time anymore.
Twitch improvements. Now, you can launch any available Twitch live broadcasts directly from a game’s hub view. The February update allows users to program the X1 and X2 buttons on the Chatpad.
For the full rundown on the latest system update features, check out Major Nelson’s blog. This will bring up a menu with the option to hide.
Furthermore, the Avatar Store has been carried over from the Xbox 360, offering thousands of cosmetic items you can buy to deck out your avatar.
There are a number of smaller updates as well to the Xbox One’s suggested friends function, and Microsoft has even improved the Xbox One Elite Controller app to give owners of the $150 luxury controller even more information about their customized set-up. This month, on both the Xbox app and Xbox One, you’ll be able to see Xbox News posts in your activity feed, making it easier than ever to stay up-to-date on all things Xbox. Finally, we’ve made improvements to the thumbstick adjustments by allowing you to change the intensity of each sensitivity curve, and also made trigger and vibration settings more visually intuitive.
Last month we reported to you on the Xbox Beta app getting multiple new features.
Some fans were unhappy to hear that the new Remedy title is also coming to the PC but the company says that this is just a way to make sure that the gaming ecosystem built around Windows 10 is strengthened.
Lastly, when it comes down to the Xbox app on mobile devices, the update will include a new compact mode which lets you switch between your friends, messages, and activity alerts.
