Xi-Ma meeting hailed as ‘historic page’ in cross-Strait relations

The first-ever meeting between leaders of China and Taiwan was held on November 7.

He said that Xi told Ma China mainland would be committed to enhancing the relationship to work for Chinese rejuvenation to benefit people from both sides.

Presidents Xi Jinping of China and Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan shook hands and waved before the media and then met in a function room of a hotel in the Southeast Asian island nation of Singapore, chosen as neutral ground.
