Both the phones will have a 5.2-inch display, a Snapdragon 820 processor and fingerprint sensor built into the home button at the front. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is all set to have two variants and this is particularly to do with the pixel density of the phones. The premium variant is rumored to have a full metal body with a QHD resolution while the images circulating around the Internet depict a Mi 5 having a metal frame and a 2.5D curved glass on the front and back. An early Oppomart listing back in December 2015 pegged the Xiaomi Mi 5 to cost users $559, but was taken down.
Meanwhile, in connection to the supposed leak, GSM Arena reported that the new color variant, black, is just of one version.
The rumor mill has been claiming since several months that Xiaomi Mi 5 will arrive in two editions, a regular Xiaomi Mi 5 variant and a premium Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with such hardware specs that places it in the market as the budget competitor to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7.
The phone is expected to launch in April. Thanks to their striking similarity with the iPhone, Xiaomi is often called the Apple Of China. The other version is expected with 64GB inbuilt storage, and 4GB RAM, priced at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 23,400). The smartphone is said to run MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It is also believed that it will come with 4GB RAM and will be fitted with a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

Last but not least, Xiaomi Mi5 is now expected to be officially unveiled on January 21, but it won’t be available for purchase until February 8. The device will be backed by the 3,600 mAh battery.
