Xiaomi Mi 5s to be Unveiled on September 24

One of the most popular Chinese Android OEMs, Xiaomi has today confirmed that it will be announcing the Mi 5S smartphone at an event on September 27.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s has certainly been one of the most leaked smartphones lately. In terms of specs, the Mi 5S will be an impressive beast with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC under the hood and a number of hardware upgrades over the Mi 5.

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer have been one of the most talked about smartphone manufacturing companies in recent times with their affordable yet incredibly updated range of phones which cater to an audience of all nearly all pocket sizes.

Although the Xiaomi Mi 5S has still not yet seen the light of day, the folks over at Xiaomi are already working neck deep on another variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5S which should be reportedly called the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus.

The handset is expected to feature top-of-the-line specifications on board, including Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This flagship will carry a Snapdragon 821 chipset with a quad-core 2.15GHz processor that will be backed by an Adreno 530 CPU and 3GB of RAM for the variant with 64GB of storage, or 4GB of RAM, which will be coupled with 128GB of storage, but rumors say that there will be also a third variant with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of flash memory.

When we speak Xiaomi, all eyes seem to turn to the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Note 2 or Xiaomi Pro smartphone as it has been seen more often than any other soon to launch Xiaomi smartphone.

The device is expected to sport a 16MP rear camera along with a 4MP front facing camera. The company has started to mail media invitations for the Mi 5s launch event expected to take place in China on the next week. It will be backed by a 3490mAh battery. Its connectivity options could be USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11. Xiaomi is expected to introduce this smartphone in the coming weeks, and judging by the rumors, it will be a successor to the Mi 5, in a way.
