Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 flagship gets official in India for Rs 35999
The device is Flipkart exclusive and pre-bookings will start from from October 17. It will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal memory and the cost of this was not decided. Akin to its predecessor, the Mi MIX 2 boasts its bezel-less display as the USP. How does it fare compared to bezel-less phones from the likes of LG and Samsung?

As far as specifications are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes equipped with a large 5.99-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.
Inside the same, you get Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with an Octa-Core CPU along with Adreno 540 GPU for gaming. This combination is complemented by 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.
The smartphone will run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box atop Xiaomi’s custom Android skin MIUI9. This panel comes with curved edges and an 18:9 aspect ratio. However, India will only receive the 6GB RAM/128GB variant, which has been priced at a competitive Rs 35,999.
The Mi Mix 2 has been launched in the festive season ahead of Diwali. It will feature a f/2.0 aperture, which supports facial recognition. The 5-Megapixel front shooter works in a way which could take some getting used to. The Mi Mix 2 is a considerable improvement over the original in nearly every way. Connectivity options on the Mi MIX 2 smartphone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. It does not have the “upper lip” that any mobile device has on the top with all the sensors and front camera. Quick charge 3.0 is supported on a non-removable 3400 mAh battery.

By bringing the Mi Mix 2 to India, Xiaomi is signaling its intent to expand into the mid-range segment.
First week of November, the phone will be available at offline stores, while on the 17th of this month, it will be available on Flipkart. The smartphone is a successor to last year’s Mi MIX and is primarily known for its ultra-thin bezel display.

With flagship-level build, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is packing flagship specifications as well. So, with the Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi is taking a gamble, launching a premium model that will compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S8, OnePlus 5, and Apple’s iPhone 8, among others. At the global launch event, Xiaomi’s Senior Vice President, Xiang Wang announced to launch the phone in Indian market soon which was later on confirmed by Xiaomi India VP Manu Kumar Jain.
