Chinese smart phone company Xiaomi is planning to ramp up sourcing of its smart phones, increase service centre network, and add more products to its portfolio in India, a top official of the Indian outfit said on Tuesday. Compared to the Redmi 3, it appears Xiaomi has trimmed down the bezels on the side, as they appear to be very thin in the leaked spy shots.
Moving on to the specifications, the alleged Redmi 4 will come with 5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone will also be more powerful than its predecessor, with an octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood. The Redmi 3S come with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage, while the Redmi 3S Prime features 3GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, with the latter also featuring a fingerprint scanner. There is still no info regarding the cameras on the Redmi 4, but going by the specs that have been revealed so far, we can be hopeful of seeing some pretty impressive upgrades on the imaging front as well.
After bringing the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime, there is much speculation that Xiaomi may launch its new smartphones in the Redmi and Mi series.
Another rumor has it that Xiaomi will be offering up two variants so there could be one flat Mi Note 2 and one curved variant. As for software, the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8.
