Xperia Z5 phones getting Marshmallow soon

Japanese company Sony might have released a trio of high-end smartphones featuring the Xperia logo on them, but it looks like we should prepare ourselves for another handset during the start of next year. However, it did not reveal the exact date when these devices are scheduled to get this upgrade, according to Android Pit. Furthermore, the unlocked variants will be the first to receive the update, with carrier models trailing behind as the operators need to further test new updates.

This means Sony Xperia Z mobile owners will start receiving Marshmallow update notifications from next month and can start enjoying the OS’s many features and useful options, reports Android Headlines.

Sony’s Xperia Z5 gets 4/5 stars for being a prime performer in a market where most phones are pretty similar. If speculations prove accurate, they may have not that long to wait, as there are rumors floating online that the Xperia Z5 will get its Android Marshmallow update soon.

“We will make Android 6.0, Marshmallow available for: Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4”, per a Sony blog. However, all carriers do not issue a software release for a smartphone at the same time.

Android 6.0 has existed for a few months now, debuting on the latest Google phones the Nexus 5X and 6P.

Android Marshmallow bring s a number of noteworthy improvements on board, especially when it comes to the battery such as the Stamina Mode and Doze feature. The app menu on Android 6.0 Marshmallow is also very different when compared to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

In addition, devices like Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact are already running on Sony’s concept build of Android Marshmallow.
