Yahoo Mail Android app gets customizable swipes & other enhancements in latest update
Though Yahoo is a struggling giant in the Internet realm, its email service is still popular, particularly in the U.S. However, in addition to a major upgrade to the Yahoo Mail app last October, the company revealed it would now let you access email from third-party services, including Outlook, Hotmail, and AOL.

The new Yahoo home page includes editor-selected news stories at the top of the page, with content most relevant to a user alongside the top stories.
Yahoo has also added direct in-line comments to help readers share their opinions and get feedback from the Yahoo community. The newest update to the app brings you the ability to customize your swipes, as well as your actionable notifications. But now, you can go to the app’s settings and tap “Swipe actions” to select which action you’d like to perform when you swipe right or left. Yahoo’s current options allow users to swipe right to mark an email as read or unread, while swiping left deletes the email.
The spruced-up Yahoo app is available to download for free from the iTunes App Store and Google Play store; Web users can simply navigate to the Yahoo homepage to check out the new features. In other words, if you’d prefer to “star” messages, sort them into folders, or archive emails instead of deleting them, you can now choose which action does what.
Meanwhile, Android users will be able to take action on incoming emails from the notification pop-up that appears, in order to do things like star the email or move it, for example.
In an effort to make users more engaged with content, Yahoo has added comments directly inline with news stories.
