Yahoo Mail Eliminates Passwords as Part of a Major Redesign
Compared to Silicon Valley’s most intrepid Internet giants, Yahoo has not always devoted its full attention to the quality of the apps and services it’s built. However it’s unclear how many people will adopt such a service. As for now, share your thought about these important features?

Yahoo Mail (NASDAQ:YHOO) is eliminating passwords as part of its redesign. It needs a better mobile game plan. What if someone told you that you do not need passwords anymore?
The company has developed a remedy with the new Yahoo Account Key, which uses push notifications to let you access email from your smartphone. Pressing “yes” allows access to the account, pressing “non” denies it.
The simpler log-in without passwords is called Account Key and will be available for other Yahoo apps the end of this year. Interestingly, that logo is also a security feature.
Smart Views, which already existed in Yahoo Mail’s desktop incarnation, automatically group messages of particular types, such as social updates and travel-related mail. That means less spam and less malware in your inbox.
Plus there are unified contacts and auto suggest.
Yahoo also uses other tools such as network analytics – what it knows of a user’s typical behavior – to keep a user logged in unless unusual activity raises a red flag. The latter, Delgado says, is especially helpful if you’re trying to remember who the person is and how you met them.
During Marissa Mayer’s time as CEO of Yahoo, mobile apps have been one of the company’s top priorities. Along with this Yahoo Mal app 4.0 brings, for the very first time, the ability to integrate multiple accounts like AOL, Outlook, Hotmail and more.
The process can continue only if you authorise the same.

However, whether or not this strategy will pan out and let it keep its users from choosing other providers – as they have been doing in droves until recently – is a question for the future to answer. You can undo other actions to, like if you accidentally move an email to another folder or mark it unread. But you can try it out through Yahoo Mail and Sports. Smart Search helps you quickly find messages and attachments. Flickr provides avatars for your contacts, and you’re able to connect to Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter for photos. It also has a simpler design and improves on search and note composition. The new iOS and Android apps are rolling out globally to their respective app marketplaces, and Yahoo says today’s changes are about making email easier and faster to use. So conversations will appear as a single, scrollable thread. The company also said there are a few special shortcuts for iOS 9, but didn’t go into details. The button functions in a manner similar to its counterpart on Google Photos.
