Yahoo, National Hockey League Ban Employees from Fantasy Sports Contest Sites

Friday, it was announced by Daniel Wallach of Becker & Poliakoff that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa, FL has begun an investigation into daily fantasy sports operators like FanDuel and DraftKings for possible violations of federal law and Florida law. Everything seemed to be going great for rapidly growing companies whose customers, after paying an entry fee, draft fantasy player lineups from a range of sports for periods as short as a day in the hope of winning big cash prizes. FanDuel makes it extremely simple to join.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is quickly catching up with the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings. But for now, the so-called scandal is just making the industry more money.
