Late a year ago, Yahoo shuttered Yahoo Screen, its dedicated video hub, and said it would instead redistribute video efforts across its fleet of “Digital Magazines” in varied verticals like beauty, food and technology.

The redundancies are part of the Internet search, communication and digital content firm’s move to to revamp its main Internet business.

“As a result of these changes some jobs have been eliminated and those employees were notified today (Thursday)”, said the spokesperson.

Not included in the Tumblr post, but reported by Politico, Yahoo Tech is also getting the axe and moving some of its staff, including former New York Times columnist David Pogue, to its news vertical. Yahoo Tech editor Dan Tynan is leaving the company according to a memo obtained by Politico.

A person familiar with the matter told CNNMoney there’s been discussion about merging Yahoo Tech with Yahoo News.

These reports come after the company announced earlier this month that it is exploring strategic alternatives for its core Internet business.

An undisclosed number of positions will be lost, the company said.

Revenue is falling, and Mayer is being pressured to spin off parts of the company.

“As we make these changes, we acknowledge the talent and dedication of an extraordinary group of journalists who brought new and newsworthy content to Yahoo”, Nelson wrote.

“While these Digital Magazines will no longer be published, you will continue to find the topics they covered, as well as style, celebrity, entertainment, politics, tech and much more across our network”, Nelson stated on Wednesday.
