Nathan Eovaldi struggled again Tuesday, allowing six runs on eight hits over four innings in a loss to the Rockies.

Five superb innings by reborn starter Jorge De La Rosa.

The Yankees bats tallied 15 hits including a 3-run home run by Didi Gregorius.

Making his Yankee debut as a pinch-hitter, Davis delivered an RBI single to start the eighth-inning scoring, which included a two-run single by Jacoby Ellsbury during the eight-hit attack.

The Yankees sent 12 batters to the plate in a seven-run eighth but it wasn’t enough as the Colorado Rockies held on for a 13-10 win Tuesday night.

De La Rosa (3-4) scattered three hits to get his first win as a starter in two months.

Royals 3, Indians 2: Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning, and Kansas City held on through a shaky ninth to beat Cleveland.

Davis’ hit started a rally that almost brought the Yankees all the way back from a 12-3 deficit. De La Rosa got Starlin Castro to ground into a double play, helping him escape the inning without any damage.

Ryan Raburn, in for the injured Parra, hit a solo shot to right for a back-to back encore to boost Colorado’s lead to 4-0. Eovaldi was chased after giving up Nolan Arenado’s RBI double to left field which went off Gardner’s glove and gave Colorado a 6-0 lead.

But the Rockies countered with three runs in both the sixth and seventh against Kirby Yates and Richard Bleier, seemingly putting the game away as they stretched the lead to nine.

What looked like a Rockies blowout, quickly turned into a nail biting two-run game after Justin Miller allowed five straight hits.

On last night’s episode, I started by talking about the New York Yankees (31-32) losing two out of three games to the Detroit Tigers over the weekend.
