Yankees’ next offer for Rodriguez is just an office job

Alexander Emmanuel “Alex” Rodriguez was born July 27, 1975, is an American professional baseball shortstop and third baseman for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Then in the weeks after the deadline, Mark Teixeira announced he was going to retire after the season and now another name is added to that list.

“Alex is one of those guys that’s always working so he sets a great example for young players”. But the 41-year-old already is on the fringes of New York’s roster, having started just one of the team’s last 14 games.

In 2015, A-Rod enjoyed a renaissance season with 33 home runs after missing the entire 2014 season serving a suspension for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said the club hopes Lincecum will accept an assignment to Triple-A and that his pitching issues can’t be solved in the majors.

“As far as milestones”, he said, “I would have had an unbelievable time trying to go after them…” It is what it is. “He talked about the cards that were dealt to him and he made the best out of it, so I wish him the best”.

“For a guy who has been to hell and back and has made every mistake in the book”, said Rodriguez, “I think they can learn equally from all the mistakes I’ve made and hopefully not make them”.

Rodriguez said on Sunday he was the one who asked to play in the Bronx one last time before leaving the team. He suffered a hamstring injury in May and has since spent time on the bench. “I think the fans across the nation should be very proud of him”, Rod Harris said.

Rodriguez started his big league career with Seattle in 1994 and signed a $252 million, 10-year contract with Texas before the 2001 season, the largest agreement in baseball history. “Listen, I’ve got five World Series, four of those as GM, one as assistant GM”.

The following passage from Rosenthal’s story suggests that game against the Rays is the only action Rodriguez will see.

The Yankees said Rodriguez will report directly to Steinbrenner and will be assigned to work with players at all levels of the team’s farm system, including numerous club’s top prospects. “It has been a pleasure for me to spend this season with him, and also the time we had in spring training”.

It’s not just position players, though, that Rodriguez influenced. That’s something he’s helped me a lot with. “I’m sure there was some soreness, but it was good to see him with a baseball in his hand”.

Many of Rodriguez’s current and former teammates took to Twitter to bid him goodbye.

“He got us a championship”, Dixon said.
