Yankees to reduce A-Rod’s playing time
A-Rod has had a fantastic career but it has been tainted by testing positive for steroids that got led to his season-long suspension in 2014. We have to look in the mirror. “I’ve been through a lot”. But I believe overall the majority of our fans like what we did, are happy with what we did, but the results have to pan out, right?

In fact, here is a verbatim transcript of what he said in an answer that lasted all of nine seconds: “I don’t necessarily think so, no”.
“I haven’t discussed with the baseball people anything about what we’re going to be doing in the hours and days to come”, he said. “But you have to be realistic”, Alex said.
A report says it’s possible the Yankees will release Rodriguez before the end of the season.
The charade of a wild-card spot is over; Tuesday’s loss, in which their best starter, Masahiro Tanaka, was pounded for seven earned runs, including two home runs, in 6 1/3 innings, dropped them back to.500 (53-53) for the 12th time this season, and they have never been higher than four games over.
With Gary Sanchez seemingly set to join the team shortly and the Yankees eventually wanting a better look at Aaron Judge, why keep A-Rod glued to the bench?
Over the last week, the Yankees have made a commitment to the future of the franchise and have placed less of an emphasis on the future.
“I know that the organization has a brighter future today than it did last week and hopefully I’m part of that equation”, Rodriguez said.
In the past week and a half, the Yankees have traded Beltran, Andrew Miller, Aroldis Chapman and Ivan Nova.
To his credit, A-Rod hasn’t lashed out over the possibility of being released, hasn’t raised a ruckus over losing playing time and has been a model citizen inside the clubhouse despite going through the toughest on-field season of his career. “But if not I can accept it very clearly”.
“My plans are for him to be there tomorrow with us”, Girardi said after the game.
This response is rather interesting from Girardi.
Rodriguez, who is four home runs short of 700, shrugged off suggestions that the Yankees were putting him in an untenable situation by requiring him to produce at the plate in order to get more at-bats, while at the same time reducing his chances to play.
The Yankees and Rodriguez seem to be at crossroads in a relationship that has seen its share of turbulence.
The Yankees purged four veterans from their roster in the days leading up to the trade deadline, but they may set their biggest fish free before the end of the season. We haven’t sat down as an organization and said this is what we’re going to do.
Speaking before Tuesday’s game at the Mets, A-Rod says “Whatever they do, I’m at peace” and “I hope I can stay here for the remainder of my contract”.
“I know he’s saying the right things, but on the inside it’s got to be eating him up”, Gooden said on Tuesday.

Hal Steinbrenner had to sign off on all of Brian Cashman’s recent trades, which means he had to sign off on the first Yankees rebuilding process in a generation.
