Yankees Trade Aroldis Chapman To The Cubs
According to a report from Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball, the Cubs have acquired star reliever Aroldis Chapman from the New York Yankees in exchange for four players. The move fills a big hole in the Cubs bullpen who have been looking for a lefty in the bullpen. The Cubs haven’t won a World Series in 108 years and have the talent this year to break the streak.

Aroldis Chapman certainly will secure wins for the Chicago Cubs on the field but chances are he and the team will be losing off the field in terms of morality. The 29-year-old right-hander has had his success in NY, however – his best season came in 2013, when he went 9-6 with a 3.10 ERA in 23 outings. Look for the Cubs to absolutely dominate the National League this year and at the end of close games they’ll for sure bring in the “The Cuban Missile”.
New York Yankees relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman, left, shakes hands with catcher Austin Romine after the Yankees defeated the San Francisco Giants 3-2 in a baseball game Friday, July 22, 2016, in New York.
The Yankees will also receive Warren, a right-handed pitcher whom they actually traded this past offseason for Starlin Castro. However, getting Chapman came at an expense.
Asked if the Cubs spoke with Chapman’s girlfriend or someone close to her, Epstein said they “took efforts” to make sure they looked at the issue from every possible side.
There are far too many times in sports where fans are morally conflicted towards not wanting to root for a player on their favorite team that has either been the subject of a domestic violence investigation or admitted to committing domestic violence. “They’re fighting to get that ring, so it might be a good experience for me to be there”. They have put together an offense that can outscore most opponents and a bullpen that can shut down opponents late in games. Being traded halfway into the season, it’s not as comfortable as starting there. Its isn’t exactly clearly how this is going to impact the overall reliever market, though we have now seen two significant deals go down, with Chapman and Drew Pomeranz, where the price, in terms of prospects given up, was much higher than expected. That’s the most such seasons in Major League Baseball history.

Chicago has moved one step closer to ending their World Series curse and winning a championship. Chapman acknowledged shooting the gun but said he never hurt anyone. Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below!
