Police say several vehicles slowed due to traffic and the SUV in which Nyah was a passenger struck another vehicle from behind, “subsequently overturning down the embankment of the center median”. A Ford F150 was behind it and a Chevy Tahoe was behind the F150, police said.

A 6-year-old child died in a crash on Route 8 in Shelton on Tuesday afternoon.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
At least eight people involved in the crash were taken to Bridgeport and Griffin hospitals.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and loved ones of these two children”, Ansonia superintendent Dr. Carol Merlone said in a statement posted on the school system website. Community members have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Nyah’s funeral expenses. Many left condolences, calling Nyah a attractive girl who now has her angel wings.
