It’s true. Apple has removed the headphone jack from the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They are worth every penny, but also a a wired headset. This was on the global site but the changes were also reflected on the India site, leading to speculations that Apple has discontinued these phones. You have a couple options for just $40 to $49.
Interestingly, this solution won’t let you use lightning headphones while charging the phone since there’s only a single lightning port (which you use to charge the iPhone). To compensate for the ditching of the headphone jack, Apple also launched its Airpod earbuds or simply, Airpods.
