Yoenis Cespedes hits 3 HRs, Matt Harvey injured as Mets batter Phillies

It might be worth wondering if the Mets pitchers-especially Matt Harvey-will retaliate tonight.

Dan Straily earned his first win as a member of the Marlins, allowing three runs (two earned) in five innings. The 32-year-old veteran is nearly surely headed to the disabled list. The solo shot was the first Major League Baseball hit for Stassi, one he’d probably wish had a baserunner in front of him. “Obviously, we were putting up a lot of runs, so sitting in the dugout and then going back out there”.

Lucas Duda hit two homers, and Asdrubal Cabrera and Travis d’Arnaud also went deep for NY, which has 46 homers in its last 21 games at Citizens Bank Park.

Mets manager Terry Collins discusses Matt Harvey leaving Tuesday’s 14-4 win with a tight left hamstring, and Yoenis Cespedes’ three-homer night.

Mackanin called a team meeting Tuesday afternoon where he said the incident came up among other agenda items.

He promptly lost the ball in the second deck in right field, a bomb keying a 4-3 Mets victory at Citizens Bank Park.

The Mets entered with a.192 team batting average and eight homers in seven games. They later connected the dots, remembering that Cabrera dropped an excessive bat flip during a game against the Phillies last September where he hit a game-winning home run off of, yup you guessed it, Edubray Ramos. Next up was right fielder Jay Bruce, who previously poked a home run to right-center field in the fourth.

Harvey topped out at 95 Tuesday night.

Michael Saunders had two hits and an RBI for Philadelphia. It was his 43rd birthday. Adam Morgan relieved Buchholz, who exited in the third inning with a forearm injury.

Ramos and Bruce left the objective of the pitch up in the air as Ramos told reporters the pitch that got away from him.

DENVER – A superb start by Antonio Senzatela in his Coors Field debut and three solo home runs carried Colorado over San Diego.

With the Mets up 9-2, the Phillies threatened to cut into the deficit when they loaded the bases in the fifth with two outs, but Harvey struck out Odubel Herrera to end the threat.

Bryan Shaw (1-0), who took the loss when the Cubs won their first title in 108 years, got the win.

Cespedes was up again in the fifth and hit a monster shot to left-center with two outs. When pressed after the game, Cabrera would say that he asked Ramos, “What the…are you doing?” “I tried to be too fine and got hurt”.

The Phillies’ four pitchers who threw all ended the game with ERAs north of 10.00. Another roster move to replace him will be made before Wednesday’s game. The first three pitches of the game were balls and after Buchholz fought back to bring the count full, walked Curtis Granderson on eight pitches.
