You Can Now Customize Swipe Actions in Yahoo Mail, Use Actionable Notifications

The updated Yahoo Mobile App has been made available for the US users in the Google Play Store as well as the Apple Store.

With the new updates the app has become more responsive, loads faster and reportedly consumes slightly less data than before. The company has made certain gestures clearer, allowing you to swipe right to mark and email as read, or swipe left to delete it. You’ve also got firms like Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter – popular apps for younger users – checking the news on a regular basis. The customising option can be found under Settings Swipe Actions. Options to star a mail, send it to a folder, archive it or more are included. The multi-select toolbar now also has star and mark as spam options in its overflow menu. This update goes hand-in-hand with a previous update that brought the swiping actions. “The more you use the app and homepage, the better your experience will be”, says Khalaf. Users can simply tap and select what they want to do with the notification without the need to get into the app. However iOS users will not get access to swipe notifications but they do get a rich preview of attachments while selecting them.

Technology giants Google and Yahoo updated their email applications this week in a continuing battle for inbox supremacy. Then, in December, the app was updated with support for Gmail, along with iPad multitasking.

When composing an email on iOS, you’ll now see all your recently received photos and file attachments, along with a search bar that lets you find a particular item.
