You Can Play a Surprisingly Decent Game of Tennis on Snapchat
And, for an 8-bit Gatorade-sponsored ad buried beneath ESPN’s Snapchat Discover stories (baseball player Carlos Gomez running into a wall and a stack of kids sliding down a hill on a piece of cardboard), Serena Match Point killed it on the fashion. If she succeeds, a 23rd level will be added to the game that day. After a few swipes, players will see the game’s title screen, and swiping down from there will allows players to play the game. Everything within the game is pretty basic – all you have to do is tap on the left or right side of the ball to return that ball on that side.

The somewhat addictive game is fairly easy, but did seem to get more hard as you advance to more levels. You can also share screenshots/achievements to friends on Snapchat or other social media platforms, though this seemed a bit clunky for me.
You can play through the first 22 levels now, with another potentially coming on September 10, when Williams goes for a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam singles title. The tournament kicks off today. The brand says it’s the first multi-level video game playable on the Snapchat platform, and it takes users through 22 levels of tennis, one for every Grand Slam singles title Williams has won over the last 17 years.

To check out the game, head to ESPN’s Discover channel on Snapchat. When users swipe up the ad, they will be directed to an in-app game experience. In fact, they had a filter that had over 160 million impressions, according to Digiday.
