‘You know nothing of what oppression is’: Wounded Warrior blasts Kaepernick

“You can become a cop in six months and don’t have to have the same amount of training as a cosmetologist”, Kaepernick said.

At the U.S. Open tennis tournament in NY, top-ranked American John Isner spoke of Kaepernick after winning his first-round match Monday.

Kaepernick hasn’t stood for the anthem in any of the team’s three preseason games “and I don’t see it as going about it the wrong way”.

“You can’t say on the one hand we have rights and then try to oppress someone for exercising those very same rights”, said Rev. Walton. I’m going to continue to make a difference in my community because I recognize that even though our country does in fact have its shortcomings; it would be ignorant and short-sighted to think we could change that simply by sitting.

In 2014, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and other National Basketball Association players wore t-shirts with the words “I Can’t Breathe” in reference to the last words of Eric Garner, who died after being placed in a chokehold by a New York City police officer.

Even his former coach, outspoken MI leader Jim Harbaugh, chimed in from afar in disagreement with Kaepernick’s tactics – clarifying some earlier remarks that questioned the quarterback’s motivation.

“My initial reaction was ‘Good, we are beginning a hard discussion, ‘” said Rev. Reginald Walton. – MI head coach Jim Harbaugh, who coached Kaepernick with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014. “I’m a big Blaine Gabbert fan now”. “I don’t know what [in] his experience could be so negative”, Kilmeade said.

Gabbert and Kaepernick are competing for San Francisco’s starting QB job.

“I think the two presidential candidates that we currently have also represent the issues that we have in this country right now”, Kaepernick said recently, via CBSSports.com. “Even as objectionable as we find his perspective, he certainly is entitled to express them”.

Beyond whether or not Kaepernick is proud of America’s symbols, there’s good reason to object to the “Star-Spangled Banner”.

But U.S. Senator Charles Schumer disagrees. “I have family, I have friends that have gone and fought for this country”. But is Kaepernick untouchable on this one?

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has caused outrage among some Fox News hosts for not standing during the national anthem in preseason as a silent protest of police brutality against black people (video below). The 49ers thought the Kaepernick situation was such an issue that they called a team meeting Sunday so he could explain to the other players what he was doing. Most recently, several WNBA players faced fines for wearing shirts embroiled with #BlackLivesMatter while warming up for a game to protest recent police shootings.
