Police are searching for a young boy who went missing near Carson Beach in South Boston Tuesday afternoon.

“This is the worst part of our job”, said Police Commissioner Williams Evans, according to Boston ABC affiliate WCVB.
Police said Kyzr Willis left the L Street Bathhouse at around 2 p.m., apparently alone and without his sneakers. We checked the water, we checked the shoreline, we were out in neighborhoods, we checked the area around his home in Dorchester, Evans said.
State police are searching for a child who went missing in the area of a Boston beach.
“The City of Boston is devastated to learn of the tragic loss of Kyzr Willis, and I will be working closely with Boston Centers for Youth and Families and the Boston Police Department until we know exactly what happened”.
“The entire City of Boston is praying for the safe return of Kyzr Willis and will be on high alert until he is back home”, Mayor Marty Walsh said in a statement Tuesday evening.

A search is now underway by street patrols, K9 units, state police and Coast Guard air wings and state police and Boston Police marine units.
