Young migrant found dead in France

A 20-year-old Iraqi refugee who was apparently trying to get across the English Channel to Britain has been found crushed to death in a truck, French authorities have said. Two family members were found “safe and sound”, the source added.

A truck driver found at 08:00 local time (0600 GMT) a lifeless body of a man “probably crushed by pallets”, Calais prefecture said in a statement.

An estimated 5,000 migrants displaced from countries including Syria, Libya and Eritrea are believed to be camped in and around Calais.
