Shan Johnson, daughter of late music director Johnson, was found at a hotel room in Chennai.

Ashok Nagar police sources said neighbours had seen Ms. Johnson on Thursday evening, but did not notice her on Friday morning.
Shan, who completed her BCom from Stella Maris College, Chennai, was a member of two western music bands. Shan’s father was a renowned and respected music composer in Malayalam film industry.
The singer lived in a second-floor flat in an apartment complex on Chakrapani Street, Kodambakkam. Police did not find any suicide note, so they registered her death as unnatural. “Her mother is at a relative’s house in Mylapore”.
It’s also heard that she was in medication for her health problems.
Johnson Master died in 2011 due to massive heart attack.
Policemen arrived at the flat at around 1pm and found Shan lying horizontally on a bed. Six months later, his son Ren Johnson, 23, died in a bike accident in Chennai on the way to work at an IT company. Her body was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem examination. She had sung songs in Malayalam films such as Praise the Lord and Thira as well as in a couple of Tamil movies.

Shan became a music director with the movie “His Name is John”. Shan had also written the Hindi lyrics for a song in “Vettah”, an upcoming Malayalam film.
