Multiple viewers submitted messages to WYTV with photos of the rock, which is located outside the school’s Kilcawley Center and is frequently used to advertise for events on campus. These messages include “YSU supports ISIS”, “France deserves destruction” and “We are coming”.

The alert is in response to messages found spray painted on a rock that is well-known campus landmark.

WKBN reported that although it is still unknown who left the messages and why, the school has already painted over the rock and sent out a mass text to warn students.

Messages were found painted on the rock on the Youngstown State University campus core on Monday, November 23, that were found to be of concern.

Youngstown State University Police say the case is being taken seriously and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified as a precaution.

Police are looking into the matter at this time. Police are investigating. No credible threat to campus now.
