A feckless Congress and equally spineless state lawmakers have forced the President to act unilaterally through executive action to protect American interests. Just because we disagree, that doesn’t give the President the authority to go around Congress.

At least the president is doing something.

Opponents of gun restrictions are often the first to play the mental illness card when a massacre occurs to avoid passing constraints on guns.

Mr. Obama’s perceived lack of resolve in dealing with global terrorism should not undermine his efforts to advance reasonable gun control measures at home.
