It’s seen as an alternative to streaming service Twitch. Further benefits are that app users can receive live stream notifications, and also tune in to live streams for events such as E3, Gamescom, and PAX.

Youtube has included a feature called mobile Gameplay which lets users broadcast a live stream of their gameplay directly from their mobile devices with the help of mobile capture feature in the app.

According to Google, hundreds of millions of gamers watch billions of hours of gaming content on YouTube, with upwards of 60% more time spent watching gaming videos this year versus last year.
