In almost a year YouTube launched YouTube Gaming which at first was restricted to US and UK. Google’s steaming app was initially launched in the UK and US, but is gradually being pushed out to new markets. Announced during the ongoing Tokyo Game Show, no specific release date for the functionality was given but it is said to be coming “soon”.

In a statement YouTube’s global gaming head Ryan Wyatt said: “Japan’s mobile games define its gaming culture, far more so than in other countries”. Albeit it already has a few aces up its sleeve, like the fact that you are able to rewind and go back during live streams.
YouTube wants to capitalise on the growing mobile gamer demographic by launching a streaming service for Android devices.

Until now people say that technically Twitch.tv and YouTube gaming are equivalent(Kappa) but YouTube doesn’t have the same amount of users to really compete with Twitch.tv.
