Being differently abled should never stop anyone from making their way into the spotlight.

And it certainly didn’t hold YouTuber Marimar Quiroa back from following her passion for beauty. Quiroa, 21, was born with a cystic hygroma – a fluid-filled growth in her neck and mouth that requires her to breathe through a tube and use sign language to communicate.

“It affects me in several ways”, she said. Quiroa counts her mother as her main cheerleader – as well as her best friend – encouraging her to run with the idea.

Luckily, those feelings didn’t last too long and Quiroa quickly learned to love the skin she’s in.

“When I was younger I would talk to myself in the mirror”. “They tell me I’m attractive and love my makeup”. She would even list out her favorite personal qualities to continually build her confidence.

The YouTube beauty sensation has continued her positive progression since then, and now shares her message of self-love and beauty with the world. “It doesn’t matter if you have a different-looking face. accept yourself for who you are”. “Accept yourself, accept your image – that’s what matters”.

And with more than 110,000 subscribers and six million views, it appears as though her audience is sending her the love right back.

Beauty vlogger Marimar Quiroa is one of these people. In a video Q&A, Quiroa says she’s studying to be a teacher’s aide for elementary school children who can’t hear, but eventually she might want to study photography, fashion, and film.

Already a fan of beauty and fashion, Quiroa made a decision to launch her channel while in high school. In a recent interview with Barcroft TV, Marimar explained that her YouTube channel was meant both as an inspiration to others, as well as a way for her to celebrate self-acceptance. “What I like about makeup and beauty is imagining new looks, especially around the eyes”, she tells Fox News, “and showing people they’re handsome no matter what”.

“People type their comments after they view my videos, and they say some really nice things”, she said. “They tell me I’m attractive and they love my makeup”, she said.

“Ever since she was little she’s managed to figured things out”. Though the makeup enthusiast is now in her first year of beauty school, she hopes to one day become a teacher for deaf children.

We can’t wait to see what she’ll get up to next.
