Video footage on Israeli media of Saturday’s shooting showed 13-year-old girl, Roqaya Abu-Eid, running towards a guard at the entrance to the settlement of Anatot waving a long knife.
Abbas said during a meeting with journalists in the West Bank city of Ramallah that the move aims at “establishing a mechanism to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and implementing the Arab peace initiative”.

On January 17, a terrorist infiltrated the settlement of Otniel in the southern West Bank, stabbing mother Dafna Meir to death. “Security measures have been taken following my orders”, he said.
Abbas also reportedly talked about the preparations to eventually head to the UN Security Council over Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which are illegal under global law.
The next day a pregnant woman was stabbed in the settlement of Tekoa but survived her wound and has been released from hospital. No injuries or damages were reported as part of the rockets fire.
