After performing the mandatory medical check-up, the duo was produced before a first-class judicial magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody for fourteen days.

Mithun Reddy was involved in a fracas with Air India station manager S. Rajasekhar on non-issue of boarding pass to him and fellow passengers on November 26 at Renigunta Airport in Chitoor District in Andhra Prades.

Anticipating that they would foment trouble, six YSR Congress MLAs were detained as a precaution ahead of Reddy’s arrest. 16 persons have already been arrested and released on bail. His anticipatory bail petition was also rejected by a court.

He was reportedly miffed with an Air India airport manager for not allowing his relative to board a flight after the final call.

Based on the CCTV footage of the assault, an FIR was lodged against Reddy. The police had charged the MP and 15 others with trespass (Section 448 of IPC), voluntarily causing hurt (Section 323) and assaulting a public servant (Section 353 of IPC). The AP police had sought the help of the Union home ministry and alerted all worldwide airports with a lookout notice for Mithun Reddy.

Mithun Reddy is a member of Lok Sabha from Rajampet in Kadapa district.
