After teasing the smartphone for more than three months and taking a dig at other flagships, Micromax-backed YU has finally launched the Yutopia.
Basically the Yu Yutopia has some of the best specs available for an Android-powered phone in late 2015.
YUTOPIA is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. Similar to the iPhone upgrade programme, all you need to do is pay the EMI for 12 months and get the next Yutopia upon release. Also, there is Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 to deliver fast charging support and a fingerprint sensor is available on the back side to deliver a more secure experience than the existing Yu series smartphones.
Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and Micro-USB. Rahul Sharma, founder, YU Televentures said on the launch, “We are extremely euphoric to complete our first year with a bang as today’s launch reaffirms our promise of doing everything that’s exciting and new”.
Stay tuned for details and review of the Yu Yutopia!
As a package, the Yu Yutopia certainly looks good on paper, be it in terms of display, chipset, design as well as camera. We hope the phone can perform as well in real world usage scenario and do justice to its specifications, and to the company’s claims.
The phone features DTS sound and Yu is offering Little Bird in-ear headphones by House of Marley in the box. “We know that consumers will love YUTOPIA’s impressive combination of hardware and Cyanogen OS”.
He said that the Yutopia users will not have to bear the brunt of looking up things on different apps, as the “AroundYU” app accumulates all kinds of services and arranges it for easy access. This phone runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1, which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. By default you get options such as Food, Shopping, Cab, Flight, Hotel, Bus and Train and YU plans to add more services such as movies for instance.
As far as the upgrades are concerned, following the launch of Yutopia 2, Yutopia users will get a chance to switch to the new version receiving up to 40 percent cashback on the exchange of the original.
