Man, I wish I had seen this before yesterday’s game, but the terrible Miami game forced me to declare a moratorium on anything Texans related until Sunday morning.
Unlike his first two games played this season, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant did not catch a touchdown Sunday. Zach Mettenberger will start in his place again. When Hoyer plays well, he has shown he can score, it just might not be as consistently as Texans fans would like.
There weren’t a lot of bright spots in the Tennessee Titans 20-6 loss to the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium but the Dick LeBeau defense and a great day by punter, Brett Kern kept the score and the ball game close….for a while!
For Hoyer, his play is most certainly a positive as he proved he was capable of sustaining drives and scoring to give the Texans a nod.
Mariota could provide a needed spark for a team that has lost six in a row and is averaging a whopping nine points a game over the four games after its bye week. While it wasn’t Hoyer’s most stellar performance, I have a feeling this will serve as good momentum moving forward for Houston.

The Titans got 15 first downs on the day, but were only 1 for 12 converting first downs and that one conversion came early before the pass rush got cranked up. Mettenberger may be more seasoned at this point, but he is 0-7 as a Starter including last week.
