Naik is under scanner following several revelations that link him to militants accused of having carried several terror attacks across the region.
Though his involvement in the attack has not been established yet, his speeches are believed to have incited at least two attackers.
However, Naik denied allegations that the attacker was inspired by his speeches.
“We will take administrative steps to ban Peace TV on Monday”, Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu told journalists after a counterterrorism meeting in Dhaka on Sunday.

The order read, “Based on the Cabinet Committee’s decision, free-to-air TV channel Peace TV’s downlink permission has been cancelled for violating downlink conditions”.
Initial investigations by agencies have found Naik’s speeches to be provocative and objectionable.The 50-year-old Mumbai based preacher is banned from entering the United Kingdom and Canada and Peace TV is banned in Malaysia. He is among 16 banned Islamic scholars in Malaysia.

“Peace TV is not consistent with many things of the Muslim society, the Quran, Sunnah, Hadith, Bangladesh’s Constitution, our culture, customs and rituals”, he said. “Our report was an attempt to show how young minds were interpreting Dr Naik’s views in ways that were perhaps not intended for”, the report said.
