Zambia Drops 2 Places on FIFA Ranking

The past year has proved to be highly competitive with ranking runners-up Argentina and third-placed Spain outpacing 2014 Team of the Year Germany on the this year’s rankings.

The Red Devils will now finish the year at the top, despite Argentina having gained two places.

Overall, Belgium occupied the top spot in a year ending rankings chart for the first time in its history.

World champion Germany has dropped from second to fourth place in the latest Federation Internationale de Football Association world rankings following its 2-0 friendly defeat at the hands of France last month.

Northern Ireland remain ahead of Ireland in the Rankings and now lie in 30th place.

England are still 9th while Wales drop two spots to 17th.

Elsewhere, Belgium still lead the rankings after a 3-1 victory over Italy in Brussels.

Turkey (21st) receives the award for FIFA’s Best Mover of the Year thanks to the 329 points it collected over the last 12 months.

Ireland’s task for Euro 2016 has been put into context.

Ivory Coast are the highest ranked African team in 19 position, with Algeria and Ghana the next highest in 28 and 33 place respectively.
