Twitter users, particularly One Directioners, quickly reacted to his post.

Malik has been signed to RCA Records, the same label that has signed Justin Timberlake, Usher and Britney Spears.

Zayn Malik, the man responsible for shattering the hearts and dreams of One Direction fans worldwide, has just signed a solo record deal and announced plans to make #realmusic.

Zayn Malik has signed his first solo record deal with RCA Records… and caused a bit of controversy with One Direction fans already. “They are excited about working with him, and I am sure whatever they release together will be special”. Considering One Direction’s insanely hectic, never-ending schedule, it was understandable at the time.

On the flip-side, things might actually turn out to be more promising for Zayn.

“It’s amusing, One Direction fans once made up a fake tracklist and one of them was a duet between Zayn and me, so maybe it’s meant to be?”

On Wednesday, video footage surfaced of Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson meeting Gavin backstage at their concert. Although he had been working on material with La La La producer Naughty Boy, the pair have since cut ties with each other. As an added bonus, the singer has put his party ways behind him and is now a married man with two children.

The revelation emerges amid speculation Zayn has teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Malay, who has worked with R&B artists like Alicia Keys, John Legend and Frank Ocean, to begin recording his debut solo album.

“I think it’s worth the wait, I think the less I say about it the better”.

There’s clearly no bad blood between Malik and his former bandmates.
