Zayn Malik scraps another show due to ‘extreme anxiety’

The former One Directioner turned soloist, who was due to perform at the Autism Rocks Arena next month, chose to bow out due to his ongoing struggles with “extreme anxiety”.

“But I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October …”

The singer reassured fans all tickets would be refunded.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways”, she told fans.

In a message to his fans, the singer said he’s been working on how he deals with his nerves but didn’t feel comfortable enough to play live. Yes you will be loaded, and yes you’ll be able to do what you want when you want to, but there’s a big chance anxiety will soon creep in, even for those most accustomed to the spotlight.

Dubai concert we appreciate Zayn’s honest apologies and wish him all the best for the future. Malik apologised to his fans and thanked them for their support.

Concert organisers 117Live also released a statement saying that they were disappointed but appreciated Malik’s honesty.

In June, he was due to perform his first United Kingdom gig since leaving One Direction at the Capital FM Summertime Ball in London but pulled out at the last minute. Back in June Zayn failed to perform at a summer gig after suffering “the worst anxiety” of his career.
