Zaza Pachulia follows Durant to Warriors, reportedly agrees to one-year deal
To clear salary cap space to acquire Bogut, the Mavericks traded forward Jeremy Evans, the rights to guard-forward Emir Preldzic and cash considerations to the Indiana Pacers for the rights to center Stanko Barac.

Bogut appears set to join his good friend and another Warriors casualty of the Durant deal, small forward Harrison Barnes, in Dallas. The people spoke to The Associated Press about the potential maximum contract on the condition of anonymity because no deals can be signed before July 7. The Mavericks also virtually assured the return of Dirk Nowitzki for a 19th season. Last season, Pachulia averaged 8.6 points and 9.4 rebounds for the Dallas Mavericks in 26.4 minutes a game, which he can likely duplicate in Golden State.
The rest of the Warriors’ roster includes 2015 first-round pick Kevon Looney and this year’s draft selections Damian Jones and Patrick McCaw, leaving the Warriors with only the $2.9 mid-level exception and minimum contracts to fill out the final five or six spots. We’ll have a larger breakdown on Barnes when things settle down, but here’s the nugget you need now: Barnes was underutilized in Golden State because they simply didn’t need him to create much.
“It was really cool to see that yesterday – the picture and all of that”, second-year forward Justin Anderson said.
Bogut has been with the Warriors for the past four seasons, making the finals with them twice, winning one championship. Barnes, on the other hand, is coming off his best season in terms of scoring. Seth Curry. Stephen Curry’s brother, who played last year with the Sacramento Kings, agreed to a two-year, $6 million free agent contract with the Mavs.
The 31-year-old Bogut won’t offer much in the way of offense for Dallas, but he’s one of the best defensive big men in the National Basketball Association. However, the impending arrival of Durant in Oakland means the Warriors are leaning towards letting the 24-year-old go rather than competing with the Mavs just to make him stay. Barnes was going to get a max deal this summer, whether it was from the Mavs, the Philadelphia 76ers or perhaps the Oklahoma City Thunder as they figure out their post-KD plans.

The Dallas Mavericks are still reeling from DeAndre Jordan’s sudden change of heart during last year’s free agency, and this time around, they’re not taking any chances with their new prized recruit, Harrison Barnes.
